The Institute of Licensing and Gambling Commission have jointly launched an E-learning module on gaming machines.
This module is the first of 3 modules designed to help Licensing Authorities (LAs) and other co-regulators to improve their understanding of gaming machines and the local regulation of gaming machines.
This module aims to provide an introduction on the topic of gaming machines and will cover:
The role of LAs in the regulation of gambling
What is a gaming machine; and
The various types of gaming machines
Subsequent machine modules will cover:
The physical aspects of a machine and how they work
Machines notices and signage requirements
The illegal siting of machines and how to take regulatory action
We also intend to develop modules on areas other than gaming machines.
Please note, that the gaming machines sector is a diverse and complex one and this training is only designed to give a basic introduction, for help with complex issues seek specialist advice.

The IoL accredits this course with 0.5 hours CPD (please note this is based on the suggested amount of time it should take a person to complete the module).
