Each session will be led by a member of the Cornerstone Barristers Licensing Team and the aim is for lively interaction from both delegates and other members of the Cornerstone Barristers Team
Course Objectives: The course intends to bring the delegate up to date with the latest changes and case law that have taken place across several areas of licensing including gambling, alcohol, entertainment and taxis.
CPD: The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 4 hours CPD.

Session 1 - Alcohol and minimum unit pricing. This session will bring you up to date with the latest news on the saga that is the attempt to introduce minimum unit pricing of alcohol in Scotland, including a recap of the ECJ ruling and the follow-up Court of Session decision; and any further developments; including a look at where MUP stands now south of the border - Asitha Ranatunga

This session will consider how Uber is licensed, the application of standard licensing conditions and the IoL model convictions policy - Richard Hanstock & Ben Du Feu12.15 Session 3 - Front of house drug testingThis session will consider the introduction of front of house drug testing at festivals and nightclubs from a licensing perspective - can it be licensed, should it be licensed, how can it be licensed? From a pilot at two festivals last year, it is now being deployed at 15 this year. Questions can be submitted prior to the day or if time allows asked on the day for the panel to discuss, providing the forum for lively interaction from both other members of the team and delegates.
