Job description:

Our Licensing department are responsible for supporting and assisting partner agencies with enforcing the national Licensing Objectives when managing applications for premises licences.

Licences are required for any premises that sell alcohol, provide entertainment and late night refreshments and must comply with the 4 Licensing Objectives; the prevention of crime and disorder, Public Safety ,the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.

Our Administrators deal with applications for new licences, licence variations and also temporary events, this could be from large scale events such as Glastonbury to private weddings, its all about taking the necessary precautions to help keep people safe and reduce future demand on other Policing services.

Key responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the licensing team, managing new licensing applications and updating existing records.
Search, retrieve and collate data from various databases in order to inform decision making
Manage low-risk applications for temporary event notices, utilising the principles of the national decision model, to make evidence-based decisions as to the granting or refusal of applications
Responsible for recording performance data for the licensing team and assist with monitoring key performance indicators.
Liaise with licensees, external partners, neighbourhood policing and patrol teams to support the wider licensing team.
To work effectively with licensing authority partners to support the resolution of outstanding licensing issues.

Key skills & experience:

Previous administrative experience
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Outstanding attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally
Good understanding of all MS Office packages

This role offers hybrid working where you are able to work the majority of your time from home. Occasional requirement to work from Bridgwater Police Centre, Express Park.
