Licensing Administrator – Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council Closing Date: 12/01/2022

Directorate / Service - Operational Services / Licensing 

Salary - Grade 5 - £20,092 to £21,748 per annum

Contract - 12 month fixed term contract 

Hours - 37 hours per week 

About the job 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person, with good communication skills, to join our busy Licensing Administration Team. This vacancy is for a full time temporary Licensing Administrator for a period of 12 months.

The various areas of licensing that you will be involved in include: Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Private Hire/Hackney Carriage licensing, Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 and House to House and Street Collection Permits.

You will be required to conduct a full range of administrative duties to ensure that the relevant statutory functions relating to all aspects of licensing are delivered. In particular you will be involved in the correspondence with current and prospective holders of Private Hire and Hackney Carriage licenses.

Requirements 

You must have 3x GCSEs including Maths and English and have experience in administration.  A good knowledge of IT systems, having worked in the Public Sector and experience of licensing would all be an advantage.

You must be prepared to work flexibly over 37hrs/week to ensure that the needs of the service are met. The post is based at the Council Depot on Knutton Lane with elements of home working as required.
