Licensing & Night-time Economy Manager

£45,441- £48,474 per annum

37 hours per week

 

Telford & Wrekin’s Public Protection Service is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and decisive manager to provide leadership and management to a team of professional officers to deliver the Council’s Licensing and Night-time Economy Service.

The post duties include managing the day to day administrative functions, policy review and development and compliance and enforcement of both the day and the night–time economy. In addition the post will be the Council’s designated Principal Licensing Officer.

The post holder should have experience of managing a local authority licensing service, including managing budgets, income and fee setting and preparing and delivering reports to senior managers and committees.

The Licensing Service covers the full range of licensing functions and we are looking for a manager with a rounded knowledge of licensing and the ability to lead and manage criminal and civil cases and represent the Council in appeal proceedings.

The Council’s Public Protection Service has strong partnership working arrangements and the post holder should be able to demonstrate strong skills in developing and maintaining partnerships that facilitate a multi-agency approach to enforcement.

We are well adapted to a hybrid model of working which includes a combination of time spent in the office and at home – our approach is to promote greater level of flexible working around personal and family commitments.

Applicants should hold a full driving licence and have a vehicle available at all times.
