Are you looking for a job where you can gain a sense of satisfaction supporting businesses? A role that empowers you?

We are looking for someone to join our licensing team at Elmbridge Borough Council, someone who can support our businesses and enforce legal requirements if needed.

If you are already an experienced licensing officer, we can help you to grow your career and develop further. If you are not there yet but are enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn, then we also want to hear from you.

You will become part of our dynamic licensing team which has public safety at its heart. Our residents rely on us to ensure that businesses they use in Elmbridge are safe and licensed – whether that is their local restaurants, bars or taking a taxi home.

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Be quick thinking, organised and motivated, with a great eye for detail
  • Have great organisational and analytical skills and a curious mind that likes to problem solve
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the self-confidence needed to deal with the public in a calm and professional manner
  • Be a team player.

You will be part of a larger Planning and Environmental Health team; 70 plus people all working in the best interests of the Elmbridge community.

You will benefit from our excellent pension, as well as the ‘Thrive’ package of employee benefits and discounts with various local businesses. There is also free employee parking.

We offer hybrid working arrangements, as well as your birthday off and we are closed between Christmas and New Year, no annual leave required.

Have a look at the job description and person specification for more details and if you would like an informal discussion on the role, please get in contact with Alia Knights 01372 474737.
