About you:

Ideally you will have experience of working in Licensing or will have recent experience working within a regulatory capacity, although we welcome applications from anyone who is keen to learn and can demonstrate the essential criteria for the role.

It is essential that you have good verbal and written communication skills. You are organised, work well within a team and are committed to good customer care.

About the role:

You will be required to administer and carry out enforcement for a wide variety of licences under the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, Street Trading, Hackney Carriage and Private Hire legislation.

The role includes dealing with a range of licence applications and dealing with members of the public, applicants and licence holders in person, via email and over the telephone. The post involves flexible working but, as the role is customer facing, there is a need to regularly work in the office and complete visits within the district. There will be some requirement to attend evening meetings and undertake planned out of hours work on occasion.
