We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual as a Licensing Officer in our busy Licensing Team. The Team consists of a Team Leader, a Senior Licensing Officer, 2 Licensing Officers and 3 Licensing Support Officers.

This role will require you to administer, process and where necessary enforce the requirements of a variety of different licensing/registration/permit regimes, including those covering hackney carriage and private hire drivers and vehicles, gambling, alcohol, scrap metal, street trading, house to house collections and charitable street collections.

Ideally you will have experience working in a licensing role or equivalent experience in an enforcement or regulatory role.

You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure that you fit into the team and can liaise effectively with other council teams, the public, businesses and other regulators and organisations.

Strong organisational and time management skills are essential to enable you to manage and prioritise a wide and varied caseload within tight timescales and with minimum supervision.

The nature of the work also demands an eye for detail and a systematic and meticulous approach to your work.
