Salary Range: £42,050 - £47,330 pa inclusive of Inner London weighting (excluding pay award from 1
July 2023).


A rare opportunity has arisen for a Licensing Officer to join the Licensing Team of this unique authority,
protecting and enhancing the City of London, the world’s pre-eminent financial centre and visitor
destination.

The City of London is the Licensing Authority for the Square Mile for the sale of alcohol, regulated
entertainment, gambling, tables & chairs, street trading, massage & special treatments and charity
collections.

With over 950 premises licences and a growing night time economy this role is pivotal in supporting the
growth of the hospitality sector and other licenced trades whilst ensuring the City is safe and our
communities feel safe. The team actively supports businesses, protects consumers and deals robustly at
pace with those who break the law.

You will be part of an extremely effective team and be one of the licensing officers responsible for the
administration and enforcement of the licensing regime with a particular focus on developing policies,
project work, setting fees, running the Premises Risk Scheme and the City’s Safety Thirst Accreditation
Scheme.

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual to join us. As well as being
organised and highly efficient the successful candidate will have the ability to form strong and effective
partnerships across the responsible authorities, partner agencies, City communities, and the trade.
You will be expected to demonstrate your report writing and policy development skills, be an effective
communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be IT literate with working knowledge of MS
Office Suite and case management software preferably Uniform. The ability to work to very strict
deadlines is an essential quality.

You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends.
