Licensing Support Advisor – Co-op
£18,600 - £20,500 plus benefits (Grade G11)
Manchester city centre, currently home working 
37.5 hours a week with flexible working options available
 

We’re looking for a licensing support advisor to join our store services team and help look after the legal requirements of all our retail stores. They’re a team that work with external lawyers, as well as our own estates teams, to make sure everything we do in our stores is above board. 

As a licensing support advisor, you’ll make sure our stores and employees have the right licences in place. It’ll be up to you to make sure they’re up to date, and that data is logged onto our systems accurately in order to track where we’re up to. This isn’t just an ordinary admin role. You’ll be handling all sorts of confidential information and supporting with the licensing for all our existing and new stores and refits across the UK. It’s a big job. And it’s an even greater opportunity to make a huge impact to the way we do business at Co-op.

What you’ll do

  • make sure we’re compliant and have the required licenses in place for products such as; alcohol, fish, fireworks, music and so on
  • manage and update licensing data; making sure we’re compliant with data protection and legislation
  • manage all legal documents and applications for licensing applications, hearings and reviews
  • support the delivery of lots of projects across the business, including refits and new stores
  • build strong working relationships with a variety of different people and teams  
  • support senior members of the team and licensing practitioners
  • resolve queries from local authorities, food stores and legal teams

 

This role would suit people who have

  • administration experience, including filing, paying invoices, handling paperwork, and answering / making phone calls
  • strong organisational skill, and a high level of attention to detail (especially with numeracy and handling licence numbers)
  • great communication skills and the ability to engage with people of all levels across all means of communication 
  • experience with Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel, Outlook and Word 
  • the ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative
