Our Senior Licensing Officer will oversee licensing services and the enforcement of conditions associated with licences granted and administered by this Local Authority.

You will give advice and assistance to the Public Protection Business Manager in the formulation of overall policies in relation to the licensing functions and organise and control the implementation of such policies as determined by the Council.

This post liaises with all relevant statutory agencies to ensure effective service delivery including the Police, Fire, Magistrates, and all other bodies including internal services, providing support to the work of the Licensing team. This includes maintaining close working arrangements both internally and externally to ensure that the licensing function is aligned to key Council priorities.

You will hold a Licensing Practitioners Qualification, or equivalent, or be willing to undertake along with a Management Qualification ILM Level 5 or equivalent. In addition, previous experience working in a Local Authority environment is essential along with good knowledge of licensing and related legislation.

We offer enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme, flexitime scheme, hybrid working, a generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service, a whole host of family-friendly benefits, 1 days’ paid volunteering leave, lifestyle benefits platform, free car parking** and £10 a month gym membership at one of our four gyms in the district.

You will be working with a professional, committed, and experienced team who are passionate about supporting us to deliver the objectives as outlined in our Community Plan.
