About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic Licensing Team Leader to lead our Licensing service. The post is based within the Community Protection & Licensing Service the role includes responsibility for alcohol, gambling, special treatments, sex entertainment, street and pavement trading, pet shops, animal boarding kennels, riding establishments, scrap metal and explosives.

You will line manage our Licensing Enforcement Officers and Licensing Authority Officers, providing leadership and support to staff, ensuring that statutory requirements and deadlines are met.

You will need to be able to develop good relations with partner agencies including the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Service, Customs & Excise, Home Office, commercial partners and other local authorities and ensure cooperative operational arrangements exist.

You will be involved in shaping and influencing outcomes by reviewing all polices, including the Licensing, Gambling, Street Trading and Special Treatments and initiating new policies and procedures as necessary.

You will also provide advice and assistance to members of the public, elected members and other Council departments. You will prepare reports, deal with correspondence and present information to professional and lay audiences. Attendance at evening meetings and the flexibility to work out of hours when necessary is required.
