The DHSC are currently consulting on the licensing of non surgical cosmetic procedures

The consultation seeks views on:

• the types of treatments proposed to be included within the licensing scheme
• whether any procedures should be carried out only either by qualified and regulated healthcare professionals or under their clinical oversight
• whether procedures permitted to be carried out only by qualified and regulated healthcare professionals should only be carried out by Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered providers
• whether potential age restrictions should be imposed on those receiving specified procedures, in line with age restrictions on botulinum toxin injections, cosmetic fillers, tattoos, teeth whitening and sunbed use

IoL response

This is an important consultation with significant licensing implications, and there are already potential concerns about the scope of the proposals and what will happen with existing  licensing arrangements across the country.  Your views are essential in helping to ensure that all angles are considered and to help shape the new licensing regime.

This survey includes all the questions contained in the DHSC consultation as well as some supplementary questions to enable us to scope out the existing local arrangements.  Please help us by taking the time to complete this survey in addition to making your own response direct to the consultation.

This survey will be open until 16 October to enable us to review member views when compiling the IoL response.  The DHSC consultation will close on 28 October.
