In March 2023 the Welsh Government published a White Paper on the Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle (Wales) Bill. Almost 150 consultation responses were received as a result, and a summary of those responses has now been published.

On 3 October 2023 the Deputy Minister for Climate Change will make an oral statement setting out the next steps to deliver the Welsh Government's Programme for Government commitment to modernise the taxi and PHV sector – addressing cross-bordering and reforming licensing to make services safer, greener and fairer.
