The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2020 Published Date: 03/07/2020

The amendment regulations that paves the way for further restrictions regulations to be lifted in respect of pubs and other licensed venues have been published.

These regulations amends various sections of The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 to remove certain types of business that were subject to closure.

Under the new regulations, at schedule 2, the following licensed businesses must continue to close including:

  • Nightclubs
  • Dance halls
  • Sexual entertainment venues
  • Casinos
  • Beauty sector businesses

Conversely, licences venues have been removed and can open from 6.00 a.m. on 4th July 2020 include:

  • Restaurants, including restaurants and dining rooms in hotels or members’ clubs
  • Cafes, including workplace canteens
  • Bars, including bars in hotels or members’ clubs
  • Public houses
  • Cinemas
  • Theatres
