The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Wearing of Face Coverings in a Relevant Place) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 amends the Face Coverings Regulations which require members of the public to wear a face covering when in a “relevant place”.

This instrument amends the Face Coverings Regulations which require members of the public to wear a face covering when in a “relevant place”.  Regulation 2(8)(b) of this instrument inserts further places into the definition of “relevant place” where face coverings must be worn from today (08/08/2020) including:

  • indoor places of worship;
  • crematoria and burial ground chapels;
  • museums;
  • galleries;
  • cinemas;
  • public libraries;
  • public spaces in hotels (such as lobby areas); and
  • community centres.
