London Region Meeting and AGM (5 March 2015)

This training is aimed at Police, Local Authority Licensing Officers, noise officers, lawyers and others involved in the licensing process to improve their knowledge of current issues affecting entertainment licensing, gambling and noise control at licensed premises.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 2.5 hours CPD.

Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification (10-13 March 2015) - All 4 days FULLY BOOKED

Now Fully Booked for all 4 day places. Limited places available on day 2, 3 and 4.

Due to the success of the previous courses we are running the Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification (PLPQ) course again in 2015. The course will commence on Tuesday 10th and finish on Friday 13th March 2015 and will be held at the St James Hotel in Nottingham.

Each of the four days will finish with an exam to give delegates the option of sitting an exam in the subjects related to their current area of work or the delegates can just attend the training on each of the four days.

Book now to avoid disappointment. This course is the last PLPQ to benefit from 2014/15 training fees.

The 'Now & Next' course is aimed at everyone with an interest in licensing, including Licensing Officers, Police Officers, Councillors and legal advisors of the licensing committee.

The course intends to bring the delegate up to date with the latest changes and case law that have taken place across several areas of licensing including gambling, alcohol, entertainment and taxis.

Each session will be led by a member of the Cornerstone Barristers Licensing Team and the aim is for lively interaction from both delegates and other members of the Cornerstone Barristers Team to discuss.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 4 hours CPD.

Licensing Hearings - London (18 June 2015)

The Training
Following our successful Licensing Hearings based courses over the last five years, the Institute of Licensing are holding a further series of ten courses across England and Wales.

The training this year is being provided jointly by Cornerstone Barristers and Poppleston Allen Solicitors. Each course will be delivered by one member of Cornerstone Barristers and one member of Poppleston Allen Solicitors.

The training is aimed predominantly at Councillors sitting on a licensing committee; the training will also be open to other parties who would be at a hearing such as responsible authorities and council solicitors. The courses are designed to provide training opportunities for all parties involved in licensing hearings.

Course Objectives
To provide a valuable learning opportunity to advance or refresh the knowledge, understanding and practical expertise of delegates attending the courses in relation to licensing hearings

The Institute of Licensing have accredited this course as 4.25 hours CPD.
National Training Day - Birmingham (24 June 2015)

The Institute's Annual National Training Day will take place at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham City Centre on Wednesday 24th June 2015.

With a great line up of speakers, a packed and informative agenda, and a central, accessible location, we look forward to seeing you at the event.

Course Objectives
To provide a valuable learning and discussion opportunity for licensing practitioners to increase understanding and to promote discussion in relation to the subject areas and the impact of forthcoming changes and recent case law.

CPD

Animal Welfare Licensing (9 September 2015)

Event Date: 09/Sep/2015

This full day event on 9th September 2015 will cover Pet Shops, Dangerous Wild Animals, Dog Breeding and Animal Boarding.

The trainer will be Julia Bradburn and the training takes place in Milton Keynes.

Course Objectives
To increase knowledge and practical understanding surrounding the subject of Animal licensing.

The event is aimed at local authority officers who administer licence applications and carry out inspections with regards to animal welfare establishments.

Acupuncture, Tattoo and Cosmetic Skin Piercing (29 September 2015)

Event Date: 29/Sep/2015

This one day training course will cover in detail the legislation, licensing process and current Government advice on acupuncture, tattooing and cosmetic skin piercing. The training day is being held on 29th September 2015.

The trainer will be Julia Bradburn and takes place at London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

National Training Conference 2015 - Birmingham (18-20 November)

Event Date: 18/Nov/2015

The Institute's successful National Training Conference returns for a second year at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham City Centre. The three day training event will start on Wednesday 18th through to Friday 20th November 2015.

As ever there will be a great line up of speakers, a packed and informative programme, evening activities this along with its central, accessible location, we look forward to seeing you at the event.

Only two minutes walk from Birmingham New Street train station, the hotel is in a central location close to all of Birmingham’s main attractions such as the ICC, Bullring Shopping Centre and NIA, to name but a few.
