Animal Welfare Licensing (9 September 2015)

This full day event on 9th September 2015 will cover Pet Shops, Dangerous Wild Animals, Dog Breeding and Animal Boarding.

The trainer will be Julia Bradburn and the training takes place in Milton Keynes.

The event is aimed at local authority officers who administer licence applications and carry out inspections with regards to animal welfare establishments.

Licensing Hearings - Reading (14 September 2015)

Following our successful Licensing Hearings based courses over the last five years, the Institute of Licensing are holding a further series of ten courses across England and Wales.

The training this year is being provided jointly by Cornerstone Barristers and Poppleston Allen Solicitors. Each course will be delivered by one member of Cornerstone Barristers and one member of Poppleston Allen Solicitors.

The training is aimed predominantly at Councillors sitting on a licensing committee; the training will also be open to other parties who would be at a hearing such as responsible authorities and council solicitors. The courses are designed to provide training opportunities for all parties involved in licensing hearings.

The Institute of Licensing have accredited this course as 4.25 hours CPD.

London Region Training Day (24 September 2015)

Event Date: 24/Sep/2015

This event features talks on the Hemming Case, the new Code of Practice for Powers of Entry and a gambling update. The training is aimed at Licensing Officers, Members, Police Officers, lawyers, the licensed trade and any other persons who deal with alcohol and/or gambling licensing. The aim is to raise awareness of current issues and to highlight some of the potential pitfalls and opportunities.

Acupuncture, Tattoo and Cosmetic Skin Piercing (29 September 2015)

Event Date: 29/Sep/2015

This one day training course will cover in detail the legislation, licensing process and current Government advice on acupuncture, tattooing and cosmetic skin piercing. The training day is being held on 29th September 2015.

The course is aimed at those officers who process, administer applications for these processes and those who carry out inspections at premises providing these services.

The trainer will be Julia Bradburn and takes place at London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 4.5 hours CPD.

Safeguarding through Licensing - London (30 September 2015)

Event Date: 30/Sep/2015

This event will provide a forum for discussion and learning amongst key stakeholders in relation to safeguarding issues around children and other vulnerable people where licensing can make a difference.

The event will look at lessons to be learned as well as examining successful and emerging initiatives involving all partners with a role in protecting children and vulnerable adults.

It will be beneficial for local authority officers, police officers, social services and all who are involved in the safeguarding of vulnerable persons.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course for 5 hours CPD.

Licensing Fees - Harlow (5 October 2015)

Event Date: 05/Oct/2015

This one day training course, taking place on 5th October 2015, will cover all aspects of licensing fees with particular reference to the outcomes of the decision in Hemming.

The trainer will be David Matthias QC from Francis Taylor Building who appeared as leading Counsel for Westminster City before the Supreme Court on the Hemming appeal, and the training will take place at Harlow Council.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 4 hours CPD.

The Licensing Act 2003 - Day 1 of the Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification (6 October 2015)

Event Date: 06/Oct/2015

This one day Licensing Act 2003 course takes place in Basingstoke. The trainer will be Jim Hunter.

The day will finish with an optional multiple choice exam. If the exam is passed a module certificate will be issued. If the other three days of the PLPQ are passed in the future the Professional Licensing Practitioner Qualification will be awarded.

The event is aimed at anyone who deals with the Licensing Act 2003.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 4.5 hours.

National Training Conference 2015 - Birmingham (18-20 November)

Event Date: 18/Nov/2015

The Institute's successful National Training Conference returns for a second year at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham City Centre. The three day training event will start on Wednesday 18th through to Friday 20th November 2015.

As ever there will be a great line up of speakers, a packed and informative programme, evening activities this along with its central, accessible location, we look forward to seeing you at the event.

Only two minutes walk from Birmingham New Street train station, the hotel is in a central location close to all of Birmingham’s main attractions such as the ICC, Bullring Shopping Centre and NIA, to name but a few.

Residential places at the Holiday Inn are now fully booked. Limited residential places are now available at the nearby Premier Inn. Book soon to avoid disappointment.

CPD
The Institute of Licensing accredits this three day training event at a total 12 hours CPD. This event is also accredited with a total of 12 CPD hours for Barristers of England and Wales. Hearings Training Day - Birmingham (19 November 2015)

How to Plan a Safe Event - Chelmsford (9-10 March 2016)

Event Date: 09/Mar/2016

This two day course is suitable for all persons involved in event planning, including Licensing Officers, Police Officers and other Safety Advisory Group Members as well as organisers of events. The trainer will be Andy Hollinson BA(Hons) FdA who has over 20 years experience within the safety and professional security industry.

The event takes place in Chelmsford, Essex.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 10 hours CPD, 5 hours per day.

Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification (15th - 18th March 2016)

Event Date: 15/Mar/2016

Due to the continued popularity of previous courses we are running the Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification (PLPQ) training course again in March 2016. The course will commence on Tuesday 15th and finish on Friday 18th March 2016 and will be held at the St James Hotel, Nottingham.

Each of the four days will finish with an exam to give delegates the option of sitting an exam in the subjects related to their current area of work or the delegates can just attend the training on each of the four days.

Book now to avoid disappointment.

The Institute of Licensing accredits this course at 4.5 hours CPD daily.
