The Training
This is a three day enforcement course taking delegates from investigation though to trial.
The training will be delivered by Barristers from Francis Taylor Building including Gary Grant and Jeremy Phillips who is the general editor of Paterson's and the Law of Regulatory Enforcement including sessions with Julia Bradburn.
The course is aimed at Police and Council officers who have a duty to investigate and lawyers.
The course will carry CPD hours (hours per day tbc). The Institute is registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority. (CPD reference:- LGLF/CPC).

Speakers include Dr Teela Sanders, who will be presenting the results of recent research carried out by the University of Leeds into lap dancing in England illustrating dancer's conditions and experiences; Sarah Le Fevre from Three Raymond Buildings on the Chief Constable of Cheshire v Gary Oates case regarding expedited reviews and interim steps, and Philip Loring from the Wine and Spirit Trade Association on how to set up a Community Alcohol Partnership to tackle public underage drinking through co-operation between alcohol retailers and local stakeholders, such as Trading Standards, police, local authority licensing teams, schools and health networks.

Home Office Consultation on Proposed Late Night Levy and Extensions to EMROs

A Home Office consultation launched yesterday is seeking views about two measures in the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 that will be implemented through regulations: Early Morning Restriction Orders (EMROs) and the late night levy.
The Institute of Licensing intends to respond to the consultation, and will be consulting members in order to gather views which will form the basis of the response.
