COMMERCIAL & LICENSING TEAM OPPORTUNITY (ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH)

We have a vacancy to recruit an exceptional individual to our Environmental Health Commercial & Licensing Team as either one of the following:

 

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER £34,728 - £39,880 per annum

 

SENIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER £34,728 - £39,880 per annum

 

TECHNICAL OFFICER £30,451 - £34,728 per annum

 

Location:               Cambridge City and Working from Home

Contract:               Permanent

Hours:                   37 per week

Closing:                 12 noon, 23rd February 2022

Making a difference at a local level, working within the Commercial and Licensing Team you will be focused on ensuring that we secure the relevant standards in relation to all commercial premises and taxi licensing in accordance with legislation and service policy. Whether that is the processing of applications, undertaking inspection of commercial premises for, health and safety and licensing and the investigation of complaints and compliance with licensing conditions, health and safety. To dealing with statutory nuisance from commercial premises, outdoor events and contributing to the improvement of the night-time economy in the City, this varied remit will ensure there is never a dull moment.

 

You will join us with the ability to interpret and apply legislation, communicate well at all levels, prepare, and write reports and be able to present facts and negotiate in a balanced manner.  You will have experience of working with the public, carrying out investigations and inspections and a knowledge of current legislation.

 

We encourage agile working arrangements, and this fantastic opportunity will require a flexible approach; so, you will be comfortable carrying out site visits as well as working remotely.  You will bring your ambition, along with your up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and practice, to support our values and deliver a high-quality service to the City of Cambridge.

 

We will welcome applications for this role from Environmental Health Officers, Senior Technical Officers or Technical Officers.

 

 

 

Environmental Health Officer applicants, (City Pay Band 6 £34,728 - £39,880), will join us with a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent) and Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board.

Senior Technical Officers applicants, (City Pay Band 6 £34, 728 - £39,880), will join us with relevant A levels (or equivalent) and an advanced relevant specialist technical qualification in this area of work.

 

Technical Officer applicants, (City Pay Band 5 £30,451 – £34,728), will join us with relevant A levels (or equivalent) and relevant basic technical qualification in this area of work, with the opportunity to secure a relevant additional advanced qualification for career progression as part of our learning and development programme.
