Licensing Assistant

The job involves the administration of and supporting enforcement tasks relating to many areas of licensing including alcohol and entertainment, taxis, gambling and street trading.

The successful candidate will process licence applications received both digitally and paper based. Tasks include data inputting using Idox Uniform, liaising with customers both face to face, by email and over the telephone. Reporting to the Licensing Team Leader, the main responsibilities will be supporting the council’s Licensing Officers in determining licence applications and undertaking appropriate enforcement work. The successful candidate will be required to follow legislative processes and timeframes.

We are looking for someone with strong administrative skills and recent experience of working in an environment where they communicate with customers face to face, via video calling and over the telephone. Some knowledge of licensing law and procedures is required. The job will involve a mix of office based and home working.

  • 36¼ hrs per week with an annual salary of £20,444 - £22,129
