Vacancy Description : Licensing Enforcement Officer (Business Premises Licensing – Alcohol / Gambling / Special Treatments)

The Premises Licensing Service are seeking to recruit a motivated and dedicated officer with a demonstrable commitment to top quality regulatory services, with relevant qualifications, knowledge, skills and/or experience relating to the Job Profile.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and enforcing the licensing functions of the Council, which includes, amongst others: Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, London Local Authorities Act 1991, Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 and Explosives Act 2014.

You must have good knowledge of licensing legislation and should possess a vocational qualification (e.g., National Certificate of Licensing Practitioners).

You will have the ability to establish good working relationships with all stakeholders and to communicate effectively with a range of people, including members of the public and Council Members.

You must be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own. You will have experience of writing and presenting reports to Committee and be able to demonstrate effective prioritisation skills to meet tight deadlines.

You should be willing to work outside normal working hours as required, and access to a private motor vehicle is necessary.
