Vacancy Description

Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is a shared environmental heath, licensing and trading standards service for Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire in Berkshire.

The priority of Licensing is very high on the agenda within PPP and in the respective Councils. To this end vacancies have become available across the team to replace existing team members and vacancies so that we can, so that we can continue the great work we do and expand on other work areas.

The team will be dealing with Licensing Applications across the wide remit of Licensing, which includes: alcohol and entertainment; gambling premises; taxi and private hire trades; and animal licences. As well as other licence regimes and permits, premises inspections, enforcement and reactive work across the two areas to support the licence trade. We work closely with partners both internally and externally.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processing of applications
  • Inspections of premises across the licenced regime
  • Respond to complaints
  • Preparation and execution of enforcement work.

Qualification and Experience

Relevant qualification or experience for the Applications Lead Officer and Licensing Enforcement Officer or a willingness to undertake it are required.

A Level or equivalent science based qualification

You must also have recent suitable experience of:

  • Experience of working in a fast-moving customer focused environment.
  • Previous experience in licensing, Trading Standards or Environmental Health applications processing would be desirable for all roles.
  • Experience of dealing with customer enquiries.
  • Good communication skill and the ability to prioritise workloads and work to tight timescales.
  • Working with computers and an understanding of information technology.
