We are looking for a Licensing Team Leader to join our team in Public Protection.

About the role

 

As the Licensing Team Leader you will ensure delivery of a responsive, outcome-focused and cost-effective service. You will have direct responsibility for managing work allocation and overseeing the delivery and ongoing development of Babergh and Mid-Suffolk Licensing Team.

 

You will be required to keep up to date with legislative and regulatory developments and communicate to the team ensuring that the impact on the service is communicated and relevant training is identified.

 

The role will support the Corporate Manager - Public Protection to project manage, develop and deliver projects and service plans. You will identify and implement opportunities for innovation, liaise with relevant services to ensure that the licensing service supports the Council’s wider strategic aspirations and outcomes.

 

About you

 

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Licensing Team Leader, you will need to have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework relating to Licensing and relevant experience in its application to casework. Experience in managing investigations and enforcement is essential.

 

You will have the ability to implement evidence-based strategies, policies, processes and performance management procedures to ensure compliance with the council’s statutory responsibilities. You will have a detailed understanding and appreciation of the changing local and national agenda in relation to all licensing matters and can lead on Babergh and Mid-Suffolk’s response.

 

To be successful in this role you will be collaborative and have an organised approach to work. You will be able to manage conflicting priorities and have a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
