DEFRA consultation re Penalty notices for animal health and welfare offences

The Animals (Penalty Notices) Act 2022 provides the government with powers to introduce penalty notices in England for relevant animal health and welfare offences.
The consultation seeks views on two elements:
- Which range of offences could be “switched on” and be under the scope of the penalty notices regime
- How penalty notices will work in practice.
This consultation closes on 20 July 2023.
